Jeanette Nuñez has consistently proven to be a champion for her constituents. Since first elected to the Florida House in 2010, Representative Nuñez has repeatedly demonstrated her commitment to fiscal responsibility and economic development and has been a dedicated public servant, fighting tirelessly for Florida’s children and families.

Lowering taxes for individuals and businesses, in order for you to keep your hard earned tax dollars

Enhancing our education system, from early learning through our colleges and universities

Improving Florida’s economy and creating jobs

Protecting our children, our seniors, our developmentally disabled and our veterans

Jeanette has demonstrated her ongoing commitment to the South Florida community through her active participation and involvement. Currently, she serves on the Board of Kristi House, an organization dedicated to child victims of sexual abuse. In 2007, Jeanette was named a “Hispanic Woman of Distinction of South Florida,” for her volunteerism and dedication to the community. In 2008, she was asked to serve on the Florida Hospital Association Uninsured Taskforce and participated in the National Association of Public Hospitals Fellowship Program, where she was recognized as a “National Success Story” for her commitment and advocacy efforts.

A proud alumna of Florida International University (FIU), Jeanette earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science, as well as her Master of Public Administration from South Florida’s largest public university. Jeanette has also served as an Adjunct Professor and has been a Guest Lecturer for the College of Business and the College of Health.

Jeanette is married to her husband of 18 years, Adrian Nunez, and together they are the proud parents of three children – Megan, age 15; Justin, age 13; and Jason, age 8. Jeanette and her family are longtime residents of southwest Miami-Dade County and attend Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Jeanette has sponsored several bills to keep our children safe by increasing penalties for sexual predators and eliminating the statute of limitations for victims of child sexual abuse.

Jeanette was successful in making tuition more affordable for ALL of Florida’s students and their families.

Jeanette has continuously fought to reduce taxes for Florida’s homeowners and business owners.

Jeanette worked with her colleagues to make Florida the most veteran-friendly state in the country.

Jeanette has also sponsored legislation to create jobs, expand new business opportunities and reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses.

Despite many accomplishments, Representative Jeanette Nuñez knows there remains a lot of work to be done in order to move Florida in the right direction. Representative Nuñez will keep providing tax relief, work to create jobs and improve the economy, support legislation to enhance Florida’s education system from Kindergarten through College, and continue her efforts to protect our children and seniors.
